Did you turn out your lights on Saturday in support of a more eco-friendly world, and to highlight the damaging effects of climate change worldwide? Here in Rio de Janeiro, the floodlights that adorn our stunning Sugar Loaf Mountain were turned off, as were the lights around Corcovado, the statue of Christ as it overlooks the city. It was quite amazing actually, to see them all aglow one minute and gone the next. We are so used to seeing them through the hours of darkness that we don’t even consider the knock on effect of this superficial city glitz. One thing for sure is that no matter how much we bury our heads in the sand, we cannot deny that the world is undergoing some massive shifts and changes. We can ignore it or we can face up to it and do something about it... and that also means looking inside ourselves. After all, how can we save our environment and habitat if we can’t save ourselves?

Today I am taking the day off! September has been a hugely busy month, which has seen me travel from Japan to Ireland to meet up with Chris at her Dublin seminars (left), Courtney and I have launched our CD (right), and in my role as airline crew I have sat on call for days at Heathrow at the mercy of a beeper and then finally made it back to my home city of Edinburgh to present a 2-day workshop.
