Raindrop Technique

How it all began:
I had a knee operation many
years ago, which left me in a great deal of pain which
strong pain relief did nothing to alleviate. I spotted a
book one day called ‘Drug Free Pain Relief’ which centered
around acupressure points for the specific relief of pain.
I was desperate and bought the book to see what it could
offer. It was great! Though painful to do at this stage,
using the acupressure points actually relieved the pain! I
was able to reduce my medication dramatically and my other
drug related symptoms went away! All things natural began
to intrigue me after that and a few years later I found
myself at an Aromatherapy talk with a friend. Though a non
believer of essential oils at the time, something drew me
to go along. It was a very interesting talk and I visited
the ladies premises a few days later for her to make me up
a cream for a patch of eczema I had on my neck. It cleared
that patch up within days and it has never returned – that
was 15 years ago!
I then started to experiment with blends of oils in creams
and lotions and found that what I was making up for myself
and others really did work. And so my passion for essential
oils began! They have helped me through some rather
difficult times of my life and I carry some around with me
all the time – my own first aid kit!
I now hold ITEC Diplomas in Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Massage and have completed further training to practice Raindrop Technique, Tibetan Reflexology, EFT and am a Reiki Master also qualified to practice Q5 Reiki. I am also a member of the Complementary Therapy Association (CThA).
How I found Raindrop:
During a truly inspirational workshop given by Shellie Earley (now Kiannaa Leighland) in Edinburgh in 2000, I found Raindrop Technique. This changed my life from that very first treatment, shifting me to a much better place than I had been in many years and it continues to inspire and astound me with the incredible results and healings to this day!! Over the past couple of years I have come to realise that I have the ability and experience to train others in Raindrop Technique and Tibetan
Raindrop Technique
Raindrop Technique is one of the most exciting and innovative Aromatherapy treatments being practised throughout the world today. In fact, the majority of people call it ‘Rainbow’ Technique – is this a slip of the tongue, or is it because this technique brings rainbows into your life?
The key to its success is the absolute purity of the therapeutic grade essential oils used, namely Young Living Essential Oils – the founder of which, Gary Young, developed Raindrop Technique from inspirational discussions with a Lakota Indian called Wallace Black Elk.
Raindrop Oils:
White Angelica - used on the practitioner and recipient shoulders. It is a powerful protection against negativity and enhances auric field.
Valor - used on the hands of the practitioner which are placed on the feet of the recipient to balance electrical energies within the body. Valor also helps structural alignment.
The following oils are then dropped in sequence from the base of the spine upwards and then feathered in:
Thyme - supports immune system by attacking bacteria, fungus, infection or virus which may be present.
Oregano - works in conjunction with Thyme and also aids respiratory system, helps balance metabolism and strengthens vital centres of the body.
Cypress - used for its anti-bacterial, anti-infectious, anti-microbial and diuretic properties. Aids circulatory and lymphatic system congestion.
Wintergreen - helps remove discomfort associated with inflammation of bones, muscles and joints.
Basil - relaxes spastic muscles and stimulates nerves and adrenal cortex.
Peppermint - reduces inflammation and aids respiratory conditions. It enhances the effects of the other oils.
Marjoram - relaxes spastic muscles, soothes nerves, relieves cramps, aches and pains and helps calm the respiratory system.
Aroma Siez - relaxing to spastic muscles.
New this year is the additional ‘trigger’ work used prior to the Raindrop and which has proven to be highly effective at calming the sympathetic nervous system - fabulous for those people with long term pain or chronic/severe conditions. This ‘trigger’ technique can be used on its own or alongside massage, depending upon client requirements. Gary Young has developed this technique and I am finding that it can be used on localised areas of severe pain with great effect...
It is akin to a form of acupressure using a glass rod and essential oils.
