It’s difficult t summarise how this month is likely to be. Personally, I’ve been waiting for decades for this month, and now it’s here the immensity of it all is overwhelming. The basic astrology of it is clear – Jupiter and Uranus together at the start of Aries squaring Pluto at the start of Capricorn and opposing Saturn at the start of Libra. This pattern has been building obviously for about four years, but since last November it’s become actualised, and the period of late May 2010 through to mid August 2010 is the time of maximum pressure. During this three month period of rarefied pressure never experienced before in human history, there are four waves of change rolling in, with the final and biggest one at the end of July. Venus and Mars come together on top of Saturn in the last few days of this month and the first few days of August, triggering the whole pattern and bringing the potential for massive closure. Old structures and monoliths are collapsing; there will be temporary chaos in a number of areas. Yet this is necessary. By the end of the first week of August, the pressure is decreasing. In the second week of August there’s the Leo new Moon, at the same degree as the total eclipse of August 1999. By mid August the metaphorical phoenix will be beginning to stretch its wings, and by September the new will be evolving from the rubble of the old. But July 2010? It’s astrology’s December 2012, it’s the nexus point that we’ve been accelerating and condensing ourselves towards for decades and lifetimes, it’s the biggest moment in human history so grab your surf boards, negate fear and just go for it. What have you got left to lose?
The pace of life has just suddenly accelerated within the last month or so, and as a result things are no longer the same, and won’t be so again. There’s a new energy in town, a sudden combination of both Jupiter and Uranus arriving together on your doorstep. It’s like having both your unruly children and your disruptive grandfather both turning up at the same time, lots of noise and craziness but also vitality and enthusiasm, if not also a degree of manicness. If there’s something you’ve always wanted to do that requires lots of physical effort, then now is the time to initiate and begin, because chances like this don‘t come that often so grab them whilst they are there.

The first half of 2010 has been very different compared to what the second half will be like. The pressure on you from others has now turned inward; you’re in a state of re-evaluating yourself to see if you’re still ‘good enough’, and where you’re finding yourself wanting shows areas of life where you’re not happy. Much of the last two or three months has been caught up in dealing with other people’s affairs and the ways in which they affect you. Now, for probably the first time this year, you can be more objective about your standing with others, and get a clearer and more detached perspective about who is still of value to you and who is basically taking too much of your energy for too little reward or feedback. Not a particularly great month for further development, more a time for taking stock and seeing what you still want after these last crazy times, now fortunately at an end for most of you.

Rarely do I say this, but now is a time of solid opportunity. You can see sudden windows of choice opening up in front of you, and if you don’t take them then fine, but really chances like this don’t come that often… Particularly during the middle two weeks of July, you can find the pace of communications hotting up in unusual ways, and this can bring a number of different developments. The main theme of all of this is that change and chance should be welcomed - but risk is probably over the top. Speculation and gambling are not advised, but keep your antennae up for the pot of gold…

For the first time in months, if not years, there’s the chance to start seeing the recent past from a more objective and detached perspective, as though you can finally begin to make sense of recent times. Although things can never go back to what they once were, they can once again stabilise and this time is excellent for getting a broader viewpoint on to all of the developments of the last two or three years, and from then drawing a line in the sand. There is no new confusion, the mist is turning into fine steam and most things are clearing. Just take your time, for the first time in a long time there’s no rush.
Your normal ability to fade into the background and insinuate yourself into what’s going on around you subliminally has temporarily deserted you – all of a sudden you’re a lot more up front, assertive and projective, in people’s faces but hopefully not too full on – you could easily say or do something you’d later regret, born of impulsiveness or haste. So deal with things as they happen, keep it all as simple as possible, and be totally up front with people – you’ll find that by doing so life becomes not only easier but also attracts a quality of person into your life that genuinely wants to help you. Don’t avoid others now – get out there and interact, it’s good for you.

It may indeed be that you are the pin cushion for other people’s emotions at the moment, so don’t take things too personally, yet at the same time there’s a need to be clear with others about exactly how much you are prepared to take from them. You’ll willingly help, or listen to them, but not at your expense or detriment. Maintain your boundaries and all will be well – just know when to back off and leave well alone.

Inevitably, July is going to bring your co-operative abilities with others sharply into perspective, and I suggest that by the time you’re into mid August you’re going to be in an excellent position to be selective of the company you keep. But for July, watch, listen and observe, whilst also participating to a degree, and slowly build your opinions and plans so that in about six weeks time you can take action that will by then be crystal clear in its intent.

It’s a taster of what’s to come early next year, something to whet your appetite and act as a carrot to keep you going over the remainder of this year. For possibly the only time this year I’m saying that it’s OK to take a few chances now – chances, not risks. By being bold you attract better futures, and at this time the pressure of recent months seem to have suddenly evaporated, it won’t come back until mid August, so make hay whilst the sun shines.
